Selected Work
I’ve worked across nonprofits and cross-sector initiatives to design, launch, and strengthen programs that improve real-world outcomes. Below are a few examples of the types of work I’ve led.
New Market Launch
I led the launch of Housing Connector’s Austin market, adapting a proven housing access model for a new community. This included defining a locally grounded strategy, building partnerships across service providers and housing operators, and standing up the region’s operational infrastructure.
This work mattered because the model was new, and Austin’s housing ecosystem required a different approach than had been used in previous markets. Success depended on building trust locally and aligning the model with the realities of the regional homelessness response system.
In the first year, I built and led a local team, supported partnerships with 20+ service agencies and 75+ housing providers, and helped house 65 households. We also deployed more than $300,000 in flexible funding to help families avoid eviction and secure stable housing.
Capacity Building Initiative
I helped design and deliver a City-funded capacity-building initiative supporting 21 nonprofits working in Austin’s homelessness response system. The work included analyzing needs assessments, conducting stakeholder interviews, and identifying high-impact opportunities for organizations’ growth.
The effort was grounded in a recognition that many Black- and Brown-led community-based organizations were being asked to deliver more impact with limited infrastructure and support. The goal was to surface shared challenges and design an accelerator and technical assistance program that could strengthen long-term sustainability, not just short-term outputs.
Many of the organizations involved are still operating today, with several expanding their funding, partnerships, and reach.
Earned Revenue Generation
As Chief Operating Officer at Marathon Kids, I led the development of an earned revenue strategy to strengthen the organization’s financial sustainability. This included identifying mission-aligned opportunities, developing new offerings, and piloting a scalable model.
At the time, the organization was heavily reliant on traditional philanthropic funding, and leadership was exploring ways to build more resilient, diversified revenue streams. The work required balancing innovation with operational realities and building internal alignment around a new approach.
We developed an early-stage model to offer an upgraded software platform to schools, districts, and partner organizations, creating a pathway toward recurring revenue. As part of the pilot, I raised $20,000 through a live pitch event and helped lay the groundwork for a longer-term pilot that validated demand.
Strategic Planning
I worked with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations to support strategic planning and organizational alignment. My role often included facilitating planning workshops based on stakeholder input and translating broad goals into clear, actionable priorities.
Many of the organizations we partnered with were navigating periods of growth or transition and needed support turning big-picture vision into practical direction. The work often involved bridging perspectives across leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
In one example, I supported a public health nonprofit in moving from high-level visioning into a concrete roadmap for their next phase of growth. Across projects, I helped teams move from ambiguity to clarity by grounding strategy in both systems-level thinking and implementation realities.
